Our Story

A Louisiana tradition, made for your table.

Du Manger brings the smoked meats, boudin, jerky, and generous spirit of South Louisiana to tables across the country—made by hand in Ville Platte and meant to be shared.

From Ville Platte, Louisiana

Where smoked meat is part of the culture

Du Manger is based in Ville Platte, in the heart of Louisiana’s Acadiana region—a community widely known as the “Smoked Meat Capital of the World.” Here, neighborhood meat markets are more than places to shop. They are part of how families gather, celebrate, cook, and pass local flavor from one generation to the next.

Du Manger was created to share that experience beyond Louisiana: the smoke, seasoning, care, and hospitality that make Cajun food feel like an invitation to pull up a chair.

01

A name made for eating

Inspired by Cajun French, “Du Manger” connects the brand to eating and the pleasure of sharing good food. It is not presented as a traditional Cajun expression; it is a Louisiana-rooted name created to carry Cajun flavor and culture to a wider table.

02

A living food tradition

Cajun cooking has long traveled through families and communities by word of mouth and practiced hands. The foundation may be shared, but every place adds its own touch—perhaps more garlic here, more celery there, always shaped by the ingredients and people close at hand.

03

Craft before scale

Du Manger’s smoked meats, jerky, boudin, and other meat products are made in-house, by hand, in small batches. The people making them have more than 20 years of experience each, working from traditions and recipes whose histories reach back more than a century.

What Du Manger stands for

People, process, and flavor you can recognize

Mass production can make regional food feel generic. Du Manger is committed to the hands-on processes that made Acadiana’s meat markets special in the first place: experienced people, authentic methods, small batches, and a close eye on quality.

As the collection grows, Du Manger seasonings will be packaged by trusted partners using Du Manger recipes. The heart of the brand remains the same—Louisiana food made with care and shared with warmth.

Du Manger started with a Louisiana food lover who spent his high-school years working in a neighborhood meat market and grew up cooking chicken sauce piquante, jambalaya, and turduckens. What began around market counters and family pots became a simple ambition: share the food and generous spirit of South Louisiana with tables across the country.
